ADOPT-A-FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS PROJECT

Many of the programs at LOVE are designed to "Help People Help Themselves", so there are often not many families to "Adopt" for Christmas gifting. However, LOVE usually has some families who have been screened and found in need for Christmas. Those requesting to "Adopt-A-Family" will be supplied with specific names and ages of family members. Usually a suggested "wish list" from the various family members is also supplied.

Once a family has been "Adopted", it is requested that the gift items and food be delivered to Love I.N.C. well in advance of Christmas. It is important to make early contact with the family that has been adopted so that they are aware of what is being done and so an agreed upon delivery date can be scheduled.

• Seasonal clothing, one or two toys per child, a gift for the adults, and enough food items for a Christmas meal are needed for the Christmas basket.
• It is helpful to provide some grocery and/or cleaning items in addition to the gifts.
• Items such as blankets and towels are usually appreciated.
• Providing a Bible, Bible storybook, information about your church, or an invitation to a special church service is encouraged.

NOTE: PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS OF EXCESSIVE REQUESTS FOR ITEMS OR GIFTS AND DO NOT GIVE GIFTS OF MONEY.
