30-HOUR FAMINE EVENT

30-HOUR FAMINE EVENT The 30-Hour Famine is an annual event, with the famine itself being held around the end of February, and is sponsored by WORLD VISION and LOVE I.N.C. It is a hunger awareness event and a fundraising project aimed at relieving world hunger. This event is especially targeted for youth groups and incorporates thirty hours of fasting with special games, activities, and service projects.

Each year, starting in late fall, LOVE works to facilitate this wonderful project for our area churches. Individual churches and groups can do this project or it can be organized into a collaborated effort. There are well developed "30-Hour Famine" kits available free of charge. These kits are full of helpful information and specific ideas that can be used to help carry out this event.

For more information, please contact the LOVE office. This event can be very powerful, but it does take advance planning. It is best to begin planning this event in October and November, and to request your "Famine" materials at that time.
